The 2019 Archdiocesan Assembly was held on September 28 at St. Luke Orthodox Church. It opened with Divine Liturgy with responses beautifully sung by the choir from the newly formed Fairfax Mission Station. At the end of the Liturgy, a Gramota was awarded to Michael Thompson for his many years of service to the Archdiocese and to the parish of St. Mark.  Building on the year long work of the Finance Committee -- the Assembly unanimously voted to transition to First Fruits Giving as a spiritually based way to support the Archdiocese.  Other key items included the passage of the 2020 budget, a call for volunteers to help with the 20th All American Council to be held in Baltimore in July 2021, and the election of Fr. Valery Shemchuk as the clergy delegate to the Metropolitan Council and Gregory Honshul to the Auditing Committee.
